Flimby West Coast Flying Club has organised a series of show races starting this Sunday in the Flimby Sports and Social Club.
The show class will be for any age cock but members entering pigeons will be eligible to enter th same number in the race from Marlborough or its equivalent next season.
The event is open to all West Cumbria Amalgamation members, penning 1pm and judging 2pm with 50p an entry to the show and £2.50 to the race with a £1 race nom optional.
That’s followed on Wednesday December 21 with a show for any age hen when the 2017 race will be from Portsmouth 1 or its equivalent. The same rules and entry fees apply but penning will be 6-45pm for 7-30pm judging.
The third and final show on Wednesday, December 28 will be for any age cock or hen with the 2017 race a channel event from Carentan 1 or its equivalent. Same rules but the entry fee to the race will be £5.
The final show for Flimby West Coast on Sunday was for any age cock or hen and was judged by Ian McGarr. He gave tickets to: 1, 7, Hodgson and Saldert; 2, 4, 5, 6, A. Hayton; 3, 8, Ellwood and co.

Workington Victoria will hold a show race on Friday, December 30 open to members of the West Cumbria Amalgamation.
The race is from Bedhampton 1 or equivalent and the race will have a six bird limit, but race entries need not be shown. Competitors must enter the same number in the show as they will enter in the race.
Entry will be 50p for the show and £2.50p for the race with a single bird race nom of £2.
The Victoria club had a show for old hen on Friday which attracted 67 entries and were judged by Mick Hill of Wigton.
He give tickets to: 1, Williams and Hadfield; 2, 6, 8, J. and A. Edgar; 3 7, P. Rushforth; 4, Varty, son and grandson; 5, Mr and Mrs D. Wilson.
This Friday’s show is for young cocks with judging at 7-30pm.
