Cumbria Under-17’s start the defence next month of the two- day ECB Group 1B Championship which they won in 2015.

 

They have a final warm-up match v Forty Club at Keswick on Wednesday, June 22 before the competition gets underway on July 5/6.

 

The Cumbrians start against Leicestershire at Barrow and they follow-up with a one-day game against them at Warton on July 7.

 

The second game will be played at the Netherfield club on July 12/13 July against Scotland before travelling to Northumberland to take-on the home county at Benwell Hill on July 19/20. This will be followed by a one day game, also at Benwell Hill on July 21.

 

The final group game will be on August 2/3 against Lincolnshire at Scunthorpe nd again the following day, Augsut 4, the teams will meet in a on-day game.

 

Team manager Arthur Brown said: “There are opportunities in this competition for players to attract interest from first class counties. Both Liam Trevaskis and Chris McBride, from last season's winning side, were accepted into Durham Academy.”
